　　In November 2017, during President Xi Jinping's visit to Laos, under the witness of the Presidents of China and Laos, the two countries' Ministry of Agriculture jointly signed the Memorandum of Understanding on the Joint Construction of China Laos Modern Agricultural Industry Cooperation Demonstration Park. The Vientiane Modern Agricultural Industry Park project is one of the first key projects to be promoted and implemented.

　　The Wanxiang Modern Agricultural Industrial Park covers an area of nearly 67 hectares and has a total investment of 260 million US dollars. After completion, the project is expected to export 3 million tons of agricultural products to Laos annually, increase Laos' annual foreign exchange earnings by 4 billion US dollars, increase annual fiscal revenue by more than 170 million US dollars, and help 330000 Laotian farmers achieve employment, poverty alleviation, and wealth creation.

　　With the approval of the State Council of China, in August 2022, the Hunan Provincial Government and the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry of Laos signed the Memorandum of Cooperation between Hunan Province of the People's Republic of China and the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry of the Lao People's Democratic Republic on the Joint Construction of the "One Road, Two Parks" Project. The two sides will take the China Laos Railway as the channel to jointly build a modern agricultural industrial park in Vientiane City, Laos and relevant industrial parks in Hunan Province, comprehensively strengthen international agricultural cooperation and economic and trade exchanges between Hunan and Laos, and strive to achieve an average annual import and export volume of Laos and Hunan exceeding 1 million tons during the agreement period.
