Xuan Ye Company is deeply rooted in Laos, supporting practical agricultural cooperation between China and Laos.
On December 7, the second “Belt and Road” Laos-China Cooperation Forum, co-hosted by the Lao Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism, Xinhua News Agency, and the Lao Chinese Chamber of Commerce, was solemnly held in Vientiane, the capital of Laos. Thongloun Sisoulith, General Secretary of the Lao Party Central Committee and President of Laos, sent a congratulatory letter to the forum. Also in attendance were Deputy Prime Minister Kikeo and Xinhua News Agency President Fu Hua.
One of the thematic activities held by Xuan Ye (Laos) Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Xuan Ye Company)—the “Seminar on China-Laos Agricultural Cooperation and Targeted Poverty Alleviation”—noted that the company has been deeply rooted in Laos for nearly a decade. Through the cross-border transformation of the agricultural industry, the development of an agri-tech industrial chain, and participation in the establishment of food standards, Xuan Ye Company has been contributing to practical cooperation between China and Laos in the agricultural sector.

XuanYe Company is fully committed to building the Vientiane Modern Agricultural Industrial Park in Laos. The Vientiane Modern Agricultural Industrial Park is a key project jointly established by XuanYe Company, China Aviation Technology Beijing Co., Ltd., and the Lao Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry through a joint venture. This project has been included in the key joint-venture projects under the Lao Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, as well as in the Second and Third Lists of Key Projects for China-Laos Capacity and Investment Cooperation jointly released by the governments of China and Laos.
The Vientiane Modern Agricultural Industrial Park in Laos is expected to be completed by 2025. It will become a comprehensive, modern agricultural park integrating various functions, including agricultural product export, customs bonded warehouses, inspection and quarantine centers, the Lao National Grain Reserve, agricultural product processing workshops, warehousing centers, frozen and refrigerated storage facilities, an agricultural data center, and R&D and technical training facilities. The Vientiane Modern Agricultural Industrial Park in Laos plans to build a grain storage facility with a capacity of 200,000 tons. Once completed, this grain depot will become the first grain depot along the China-Laos Railway. After the completion of the Vientiane Modern Agricultural Industrial Park in Laos, it will achieve the goal of exporting 3 million tons of agricultural products to China annually, with annual export revenues exceeding 4 billion U.S. dollars. This will increase Laos’ fiscal revenue by 170 million U.S. dollars each year and help 330,000 Lao farmers escape poverty and become prosperous.

Since entering Laos, Xuan Ye Company has helped Laos achieve several major breakthroughs in the agricultural sector: First, it has assisted Laos in building a complete agricultural technology industrial chain and formulating grain production standards, marking the first step toward establishing “agricultural product standards” in Laos; second, it has helped Laos rewrite the history of “zero rice exports” to China, with Lao rice being exported to China for the first time in 2016; third, it has established three research and demonstration bases in Laos, where teams led by five Chinese academicians from the Chinese Academy of Engineering specializing in agriculture have already set up operations. These teams are collaborating with the Lao Institute of Agriculture and Forestry to carry out pilot projects and jointly cultivate talent; fourth, it is supporting Laos’ agricultural modernization through initiatives such as introducing agricultural machinery, fostering cooperation on organic fertilizers, conducting agricultural product testing, and promoting the “Internet Plus” approach in agriculture.
