The Lao-China General Chamber of Commerce extends its congratulations on the successful conclusion of the Fourth Members’ Congress and the election for a new leadership of the Lao-China Fujian Chamber of Commerce.
On the afternoon of August 18, 2026, the Fourth Members’ Congress and Leadership Election Conference of the Lao‑China Fujian Chamber of Commerce was solemnly held at the Vientiane Landmark Hotel. Acting on behalf of the Lao‑China General Chamber of Commerce, Rotating President Xu Guowu attended the event and delivered a speech, joining representatives from the Lao Ministry of Industry and Commerce, the Chinese Embassy in Laos, and other relevant authorities to witness the election of the new leadership team.
The conference opened solemnly to the stirring national anthems of both countries. By secret ballot, the Fourth Executive Committee and its leadership were elected: Wang Shaoxiong, Wang Yangbao, Wang Yijie, Wang Fulin, Fang Canhe, Xu Yulong, Ye Yongguang, Ye Qinglu, Ye Yaojian, Lin Fashun, Lin Guangli, Lin Ailiang, Liu Fuguang, Dong Zhaolin, Xie Jinbao, You Jianming, and Lin Xiaobing—17 members in total were appointed as executive committee members. Mr. Wang Yangbao was overwhelmingly elected president. At the subsequent first meeting of the Fourth Executive Council, Wang Shaoxiong was appointed secretary-general, Lin Xiaobing was named chairman of the supervisory board, and Huang Xiaochun was designated director of the advisory committee. In addition, Huang Xiaochun, Ye Guishou, He Jinbiao, and Qiu Hongxia were conferred the title of honorary president, while Lü Guoming and Chen Guoyong were awarded the title of honorary president.
In his address, Xu Guowu, rotating president of the Lao‑China General Chamber of Commerce, extended warm congratulations on behalf of the Chamber to the newly elected leadership of the Fujian Chamber of Commerce and outlined four expectations: uphold Party‑building as the guiding principle; strengthen ties of hometown sentiment; leverage the strengths of Fujian entrepreneurs to advance the Belt and Road Initiative; and enhance coordination and collaboration, working together to contribute the collective strength of Fujian businesspeople to the China–Laos community with a shared future.
In his address, leaders of Laos’ Ministry of Industry and Commerce fully commended the Fujian Chamber of Commerce for its positive contributions to Laos’ economic and social development, expressing the hope that the new leadership will guide member enterprises to operate in full compliance with laws and regulations, thereby making further achievements in Lao–Chinese economic and trade cooperation.
In his inaugural address, President Wang Yangbao stated that he feels deeply honored by the mission and bears a great responsibility. He pledged to uphold integrity and serve the public interest, perform his duties with pragmatism, carry forward the Chamber’s fine traditions, unite the leadership team, serve its members, and foster a strong sense of hometown solidarity. He vowed to devote himself wholeheartedly to all tasks, thus living up to the trust placed in him by all members.
It is reported that the preparations for this leadership transition were carried out in strict accordance with the association’s bylaws, having been reviewed and approved by the Lao‑China General Chamber of Commerce and duly filed with the relevant domestic authorities. Based on the distribution of 473 Fujian‑origin enterprises operating in Laos and 56 entities that applied to serve as vice presidents or executive directors, the preparatory committee conducted a scientifically structured regional division to select representatives, ultimately electing 56 member representatives whose composition is both broad in scope and well balanced.
The Lao‑China Fujian Chamber of Commerce was established in November 2015 and currently has approximately 1,200 members. The inauguration ceremony for the new term is scheduled to take place on November 18 in Vientiane. The Lao‑China General Chamber of Commerce is confident that, under the leadership of President Wang Yangbao, the Fujian Chamber will seize the opportunities presented by the opening of the China–Laos Railway and the continued deepening of economic and trade cooperation between the two countries, uniting its members, upholding core principles while embracing innovation, and writing a new chapter in serving Fujianese compatriots and promoting friendly exchanges and cooperation between China and Laos.
