In order to deepen exchanges and cooperation between Hunan and Laos and build a new pattern of “the Belt and Road” ecological agricultural cooperation in Laos, Hunan Xuanye Ecological Agricultural Development Co., Ltd. has cooperated with Hunan Academy of Agricultural Sciences and Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry of Laos to jointly carry out agricultural research and production cooperation in Laos. On July 30, 2018, the three parties successfully signed a contract in Vientiane Agriculture and Forestry Department of Laos under the joint witness of Buen Barisa, Lao Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Forestry; Zhang Jianfei, Standing Committee of Hunan Provincial Party Committee and Secretary of the Provincial State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission Party Committee，and other leaders from the Lao General Office of Agriculture and Forestry Department, Planning and Financial Secretary, the Water Conservancy Department, the Planting Department, the Chinese Economic and Trade Office in Laos, the Chinese Lao Hunan Chamber of Commerce and the Hunan Provincial Delegation. Bentong, President of the Research Institute of the Lao Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, Peng Xuanming, Director of the Scientific Research Department of the Hunan Academy of Agricultural Sciences, and Xu Guowu, Chairman of Hunan Xuanye Ecological Agricultural Development Co., Ltd. signed the contract on behalf of the three parties.

This tripartite cooperation has been highly valued by the leaders of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry of Laos and Hunan Province. The three parties hope that through sincere cooperation, based on Lao existing ecological agricultural resources and industrial characteristics, they can help Laos to improve its agricultural technology and productivity, promote its agricultural transformation, and enhance the cooperation of agricultural science and technology between Laos and Hunan Province and the development of agricultural science and technology in both places. By doing this agriculture in Southeast can develop in a radiated way and China’s agricultural brands can draw worldwide attention, so as to realize the goals of win-win cooperation to ensure the agricultural technology to “go global” and the high-quality products to “be brought back”.

On July 27 to August 1, 2018, Zhang Jianfei, the member of the Standing Committee of Hunan Provincial Party Committee and secretary of the Provincial SASAC Party Committee, led a delegation to Laos, with Chen Xianchun, Director of the Provincial Tourism and Development Committee; Li Xinqiu, Deputy Director of the Provincial Department of Commerce; Qiu Aihua, Deputy Director of the Provincial Foreign Affairs and Overseas Chinese Affairs Office; Fan Jianjun, Deputy Director of the Provincial State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission; Pan Jiebo, Director of the Secretariat of the General Office of the Provincial Party Committee and others accompanying the visit.
