On the morning of June 30, Mr. Shen Yumou, Director of the Department of Commerce of Hunan Province, met with Mr. Somkhit VANKHAM, General Consul of the Consulate General of Laos in Changsha, and his delegation, accompanied by Mr. Li Xinqiu, Deputy Director of the Department, and the principal of the Foreign Economic Affairs Department.

Mr. Shen Yumou pointed out that the Lao Consulate in Changsha was the first consulate established in Hunan after the founding of the People's Republic of China. The establishment of the consulate has played a positive role in the economic and trade cooperation between Laos and Hunan, and the scale and quality of economic and trade cooperation between the two sides have reached a new level. With the RCEP agreement's coming force and the China-Laos railway's opening, the cooperation between Hunan and Laos has a bright future. At present, Hunan is focusing on Huaihua to build a new channel of land and sea to the west and comprehensively connect with Laos and other ASEAN countries. The next step will be to fully promote the cooperation agreement between Hunan and the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry of Laos, focus on the implementation of the "One Road Two Parks" project led by Hunan Xuanye Agriculture and jointly participated by all relevant agricultural enterprises in the province, and promote comprehensive cooperation with Laos.

Mr. Somkhit VANKHAM said that China-Laos relations have been upgraded from a comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership to a community of shared future between China and Laos, which is at the best time in history. Thank the Department of Commerce of Hunan Province for its constant support and hope that both sides can jointly promote the comprehensive cooperation between Hunan and Laos in the economic and trade fields. He stressed that agriculture is a dominant industry in Laos. He thanked the Hunan Provincial Government for signing a cooperation agreement with the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry of Laos, which is of great significance to the modernization of Laos' agricultural industry. The Consulate General is very willing to work with the Department of Commerce to promote the implementation of the agreement and the implementation of various projects.
