Vientiane, May 19, Xinhua News Agency (by reporter Rong Zhongxia) - Hunan Xuanye Ecological Agriculture Development Co., Ltd. (Hunan Xuanye for short) signed on the 19th in Vientiane, the capital of Laos, an agreement with Department of Planting, Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry of Laos, and Department of Agriculture and Forestry of Savannakhet Province on jointly building up a modern agricultural industry park in Savannakhet Province.

As introduced, Hunan Xuanye had previously started cooperation with Department of Agriculture and Forestry of Savannakhet Province on a 2,000 hectare demonstrative base for agricultural growing and obtained a quota of 8,000 tons of imported grains for 2015-2016 by National Development and Reform Commission of China. It was agreed in the MOU signed on the 19th to jointly build a modern agricultural industry park to be matched with that demonstrative base for agricultural growing. This industry park will be integrated with grains trade, research on rice, trade of agricultural machines, agricultural machines service center and other trade of agricultural and forestry products.

Khampheng expressed at the signing ceremony that this modern agricultural industry park will meet the demand of future agricultural market in Laos, improve the quality standard in agricultural industry, and increase the level of agricultural modernization in major grain producing area in the middle of Laos, making contributions to delist Laos from a group of poor countries as early as possible.

Hunan Xuanye Ecological Agriculture Development Co., Ltd. is a private company established in August 2013, mainly engage in growing, purchase, processing, sales of grains and other cash crops, investment in agricultural projects and development of agricultural technology. Hunan Xuanye has a registered capital of RMB50 million, with USD60 million of approved overseas investment. Hunan Xuanye established a wholly-funded subsidiary in Laos in October 2014 – Xuanye (Laos) Co., Ltd. in charge of business in Laos. (end)
