On July 31, 2018, the feasibility study report of the Lao Modern Agricultural Industrial Park project was approved by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry of Laos. The project evaluation meeting was held in the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry of Laos under the chairmanship of Deputy Minister Buen Barisa. Representatives of the Lao Prime Minister’s Office, the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, the Ministry of Planning and Investment, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, the Laos-China Cooperation Council and other ministries, as well as Xu Guowu, Chairman of Hunan Xuanye Ecological Agriculture Development Co., Ltd., and relevant leaders and experts from China Aviation Technology Beijing Co., Ltd., China Aviation Changsha Design and Research Institute Co., Ltd. and Hunan Agriculture and Forestry Industry Survey and Design Research Institute participated in the review.

Vice Minister Buen Barisa highly affirmed and evaluated the project of Lao Modern Agricultural Industrial Park. He said that the Lao Modern Agricultural Industrial Park project has been incorporated into the projects witnessed and signed by the top leaders of the two countries. It is the common mission and responsibility of everyone to fully promote the project construction. The feasibility study of the project embodies the painstaking efforts and wisdom of experts from China and Laos and provides strong support for the construction of the project. It is hoped that the project will be completed as soon as possible and bring into full play its benefits, so as to truly build a new silk road between China and Laos which can exchange needed goods for mutual benefit, promote industrial agglomeration and development, provide more “safe, delicious and fresh” Lao agricultural and sideline products for Chinese and world consumers, help Laos to realize agricultural modernization as soon as possible, further promote economic and trade cooperation between China and Laos, strengthen friendly exchanges between the two countries, and realize mutual benefit, win-win result and common development.

At the meeting, leaders and experts put forward valuable opinions and suggestions on the feasibility study report of the Lao Modern Agricultural Industrial Park project, making the project construction more forward-looking, practical, scientific, and in line with the future development needs of Laos to meet the national standards and requirements of Laos. The feasibility study of the project will be submitted to Lao Prime Minister’s Office for approval after further improvement.
